You Don’t Think as Smart as You Are

Their internationally acclaimed methodologies for team building, planning, performance management, strategic development and sustainable growth have assisted over 3,000 enterprises achieve peak performance.

As human beings we grow up and instinctively try to walk, for most of us that results in being able to walk. From there we learn how to run. Everyone can run, but should you chose to become an Olympic athlete your innate ability to run will not be enough to win you gold – you must study excellence and practice running. It is the same with thinking, we learn how to think through an organic process, no-one actually teaches us how to think for maximum effect.

As a consequence most of us are not Olympic level thinkers. To become so you must first understand the biological limitations and challenges we face as human beings and specifically how those limitations affect you in a business environment.

The book systematically illustrates the inherent challenges we face in our thinking. But rather than expecting you to change to meet these limitations John understands that it is actually far more realistic and long lasting to work with who you already are – which includes your current strengths and weaknesses.

You can’t change people – at least it’s very hard to change people and if you can find ways of meeting your business objectives without having too surely that is much more efficient not to mention effective. To that end the second half of the book is dedicated to simple and straight-forward business practices and behaviours that once implemented into your business will not only circumvent the limitations but also inspire best business practice.

It is a must read for anyone committed to business excellence and to elevating their team’s and their own performance from good to outstanding.
